Questions & Answers

How FILO works, for residences, clubs and private clients across South Florida.

About FILO

What is FILO?

FILO Bespoke Wine Concierge is a private wine concierge based in Miami, founded by Fabrizio Gallina. FILO designs wine programs for luxury residences, private clubs and communities: guided tastings, wine dinners, a wine club and bottles sourced from small, independent growers. The name means "thread" in Italian, the thread that connects the people who make wine with the people who share it.

Who is FILO for?

FILO is for residents of luxury condominiums, members of private and country clubs, gated communities and private clients who want wine to be part of how they entertain, celebrate and meet their neighbors. Curiosity is all it takes. Many members join for the company and the stories, and their palate grows along the way.

Where does FILO operate?

FILO operates across Miami and South Florida, including Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Brickell, Miami Beach, Palm Beach and Naples. Events in other locations are available on request.

How is FILO different from a wine shop or a delivery wine club?

FILO is built around people and stories. Every wine comes from a grower Fabrizio has chosen personally, most of them families he has visited and known for years, and every tasting opens with the story of the place behind the bottle. The result is a recurring ritual that brings people together, with wine as the reason to gather.

The wines and the growers

How are the wines selected?

Fabrizio selects every wine himself, by taste, from small family estates and boutique growers in Europe and beyond. He looks for wines with a clear sense of place and a real story behind them, made by people he knows personally. The motto is simple: genuine wines, real people, great stories.

Which growers does FILO work with?

The selection draws on more than 20 years of relationships with growers in Piedmont, Burgundy, Champagne, Etna, Tuscany, the Loire, Spain, California and beyond. Producers Fabrizio has worked with include Agricola Marrone (Barolo), Girolamo Russo and Mirella Buscemi (Etna), Castello di Ama (Tuscany), Raúl Pérez (Bierzo), Pedro Parra (Chile), Champagne Doyard and Walter Schug Winery (California).

Can FILO source rare or allocated wines?

Yes. Through long-standing relationships with growers and importers, FILO sources limited-production and allocated bottles, from grand cru Burgundy to Barolo and grower Champagne, for collectors and special occasions. Availability follows each vintage's allocation.

Is FILO a wine importer?

FILO is a wine concierge. It selects and presents wines that reach Florida through established US importers and distributors, and every sale is fulfilled by a licensed operator.

For residences, clubs and communities

How does FILO work as an amenity for a building or club?

FILO becomes a signature amenity of the property. Fabrizio designs a wine program for residents or members: a calendar of guided tastings, wine dinners with the in-house restaurant or café, the Convivio wine club and the Enoteca, a private wine shop for the community. The property offers the experience and FILO runs it from start to finish.

What does the property need to provide?

A space to gather: a lounge, a club room, a rooftop or a private dining room. FILO brings the wines, the format, the host and the stories.

How much does it cost?

Programs start at $3,000 per month and are tailored to each property.

How often are events held?

Most communities host one to four tastings a month, depending on their size. Each tasting is an episode with its own theme, so residents follow a journey from one region to the next.

What do residents receive?

The property's program covers monthly tastings in the lounge, wine dinners and seasonal events. Residents can also join Convivio at the same prices as every member, with a seat at the monthly tasting included, delivery to the front desk and, where the property offers them, payment with food and beverage credits.

Why do properties choose FILO?

FILO gives residents a reason to meet. Neighbors become friends around a table, the property gains a recurring social ritual that sets it apart, and management gains an amenity that runs itself. More for partners.

Tastings and private events

What happens at a FILO tasting?

Guests arrive to a welcome glass of sparkling or white wine. Fabrizio opens with the story of the region and the people behind the wines, then guides the group through four wines from four different growers, paired with food. The evening closes with a bottle drawn among the guests, a preview of the next tasting's destination.

How long does a tasting last, and how many guests can attend?

A tasting lasts about two hours. Groups range from 8 guests for an intimate dinner to 40 or more for a community event.

What themes are available?

FILO offers more than 20 formats: regional journeys (Piedmont, Burgundy, Champagne, Etna, Tuscany, the Loire, Spain), grape deep dives (Riesling, Syrah, Pinot Noir), Wine Battles such as Burgundy vs. Barolo vs. Brunello, blind tastings, Rising Stars, orange wines, vertical tastings and Meet the Grower evenings with a producer at the table.

Do I need to know about wine?

Curiosity is enough. FILO tastings welcome everyone, from first-time tasters to serious collectors. Fabrizio explains each wine through its place and the people who make it, in plain language.

Can FILO host a private event at my home?

Yes. FILO organizes private tastings and wine dinners at home, on a yacht, at the office or at a partner venue: birthdays, anniversaries, client dinners and corporate events. A tasting at home can grow into a full dinner with a private chef.

How far in advance should I book?

Two to three weeks ahead for private events. Holiday dates fill earlier.

Membership and bottles

Does FILO have a wine club?

Yes, Convivio. Each month members receive a selection built around a single region, with the story of every wine and a pairing. Selezione is $75 per month for two bottles, Riserva $185 for three bottles, and Collezione $450 for three bottles of allocated wines, older vintages and benchmark producers, with first access to One to Remember, the rare bottles offered one at a time. Membership is by invitation.

What is the Enoteca?

The Enoteca is FILO's private wine shop for partner residences and clubs. It offers a short list of 10 to 15 wines that changes every month and always includes the wines from the latest tasting. Residents order with a QR code or a message, and bottles arrive at the front desk within 48 hours.

Can I order a single bottle or a case?

Yes, just ask. FILO sources bottles for everyday drinking, special occasions, collectors and corporate gifts. Tell Fabrizio the occasion, the budget and who will be at the table, and he will suggest the right wines.

Does FILO offer corporate gifts?

Yes. FILO curates bottles and cases for clients and teams, each one paired with a card that tells the story of the wine and its grower.

Is FILO licensed?

Yes. All wine sales and service are handled by a licensed operator, in full compliance with Florida law.
